THE CASE DERVENTA
Under-aged girl was being trafficked because of prostitution
The news about revealing of chain trafficking of human beings and organized prostitution in Derventa whose victims were under-aged school girls of High School in this town shocked BiH's public. The news shocked the public especially because of the turning point during the investigation which provoked protests of citizens and the victims' families who have made indistinct a lot of details of this political action.
Members of Unit for special investigation Ministry of Interior RS arrested 9 persons from region of Derventa on the 18th December; those persons are brought in connection with organized prostitution, announced from Ministry of Interior RS.
The action was taken about 6 o'clock in the morning and in that action more motels, petrol stations and private houses were searched in Derventa.
All arrested persons among who there are some rich and influential local residents of Derventa suspected for organized trafficking of human beings in order to do prostitution.
According to discovery Banja Luka's "Nezavisne novine" in action were arrested Čedo Markelić called Markela who is the owner of the motel "Na babinom brdu" in settlement Bijelo brdo near Derventa and he also owns petrol station "Mark Petrol", and businessman Milivoje Nović who is the owner of more bussines buildings in Derventa.
Miloš Vračević and Maja Golub who are workers of the Center for social work in Derventa arrested, Slobodan Jamedžija director of the Vocational School for worker's profession in Derventa, Mladenko Nović manager of the motel " Na babinom brdu", and Goran Jevtić, Slaviša Vuković and Husein Silvić.
According information which investigators found out, Milivoje Nović was procuring under-aged girls from region Derventa to his business partners and other persons from who he got the money in return.
Branislav Nović son of the Milivoje Nović also was suspected for the same act, but he wasn't arrested in action because he wasn't at home. More sources of "Nezavisne" told that father and son suspected that they long time in continuity were threatening to under-aged girls "that about that they mustn't tell anything", they were saying "how they have power and that they control everything".
His son Branislav wanted to use one from under-aged girls for transporting drugs in Croatia. He even showed to the girl the drugs which were in his apartment in Derventa, states the source of "Nezavisne".
The source added that Čedo Markelić was suspected that he also was founding the "customers" for under-aged girls. Except that at his own charge is putting that he to under-aged girls sometimes paid for intimate relations with customers who he brought to them, while he in most cases all money kept back for himself.
"In cases when under-aged girls wanted to charge by themselves those services, the customers would tell them "Čedo treats". In case that they would refuse to operate according Markelić's order, he was threatening even with murder, says the same source.
Arrested workers of the Center for social work Miloš Vračević and Maja Golub suspected that they were threatening to one from under-aged girls that she mustn't speak about her relation with Milivoje Nović and his son Branimir or in contrary they will separate her from the family and that they put up her to the community home.
Investigators came to the information that one of the under-aged girls kept a diary in which she recorded customers and what happened to her, but Slobodan Jamedžija director of the High School found out for the diary. He was suspected that he two months ago threatened to her that she must destroyed that diary what she did because she was afraid that he can throw out from the school.
Jamedžija is accused that he was being threatening to the same school girl that she mustn't go to the police nor speak about prostitution. In the other words, he called her in his office on the 15th October this year and asked:"Whore, why were you at the police in Doboj?" and warned her to not go any more there.
The source of „Nezavisne" says that Manager of Markelić's motel Mladenko Nović suspected that in most cases determined rooms in motel for the under-aged girls and after that they had intimate relations with customers. Investigators fortified that in the motel there were rooms which were anticipated just for meetings customer with girls.
District prosecutor's office in Doboj applied for custody till one month for Goran Jevtić and Slaviša Vuković because of suspicion that they forced under-aged girls to occupy oneself with prostitution.
At the same time, Prosecutor's office released from prison after testimony Čeda Marković who is the owner of the motel „Na babinom brdu", and bussinesman Milivoje Nović who were arrested in the same action.
"Accuser didn't suggest for the other two men determining of the custody as regards that we didn't find that there are enough collected evidences for grounds for suspicion that they did the criminal offence because of that there aren't law condition for suggesting and determining custody", said in Prosecutor's office. However, they added that there is suspicion that Markelić and Nović "were realized characteristic of criminal offence trafficking of human beings with their actions ", and because of that the Prosecutor's office is going to deliver the report against them to the Prosecutor's office of BiH for farther process.
Arrested Miloš Vračević and Maja Golub workers of the Center for social work in Derventa, Slobodan Jamedžija dierctor of the Vocational School for worker's professions in Derventa, Mladenko Nović the manager of the motel „Na babinom brdu", and Husein Silvić were listened and then released from the prison and investigation against them is continued.
Such course of investigation has taken about hundred female citizens and citizens on the street of Derventa, and mothers of the victim's announced protest in front of building District prosecutor's office in Doboj.

GENEVA: IN YEAR 2007 murdered at least 110 journalists
During year 2007 in the world was murdered at least 110 journalists in 27 countries what is record high number suffered announced organization for protection of medias "Campaign for press symbol" on the 17th December.
"This year recorded increase from 14% according to number from year 2006. That is unacceptable. We severely criticize these acts of violence", Blez Lempen general secretary of organization stated this.
About two third of murders were happened in zones of the biggest conflicts such as Iraq, Somalia, Sri Lance, Afghanistan, and Democratic Republic Congo.
It is stated in the report that Iraq is the most dangerous country for media's work in fourth year one by one. This year has been killed 50 journalists in Iraq.
Lempen stated that at least 250 journalists killed from international invasion under order USA on Iraq in March year 2003.
"Campaign for press symbol" was started in 2004 by journalists from some countries. Organization has headquarters in Geneva, and today gathers 35 journalist's associations from 100 countries in combat for assimilation international convention about protection of journalists in zones of conflicts.
